Kawee's last days at home.

Today marks the beginning of violence in Thailand. There was confrontation between the government and the anti-government riot. Hope this violence will not expand and will end soon.

Another part o my life is that today is Kawee's last day in Thailand before he leaves to do this undergraduate at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. I've already begun missing him since yesterday. LOL. Just as Saiyai, my eldest child, left to study at NYU, on the 15th. Even though she said she's doing alright, except the fact that she misses her family so much, I can't help but worry and miss her.

I've gathered pictures of Kawee, in his last few days before he leaves for Vancouver. Just for the sweet memories in the family, and to share them with our lovely friends.

Oh! Today Kawee enjoyed eating Thai food. I told him to eat it up because once he's in Canada, Thai and Chinese food will be out of his reach. LOL.

Before the day could come that Kawee would go to UBC. Kawee faced a crisis in his life, when our family had economic difficulties, just like many other middle-class families in Thailand. This brought out many people who we are so grateful for and will forever be in my memory. This include Kawee's School Headmaster (Harrow International School of Thailand), Dr. Hensmann. He valued Kawee and gave him a scholarship to stay in school. I still remember his words, explaining his decision that Kawee was too good for him to let go simply because our family had financial difficulties. His favor was too good to be true.!!!

The other one is Herbert. He is Kawee's Drama teacher and tutor (homeroom teacher) for 4 years. Many people say that Westerners see teaching as simply a career. Something to pay the bills. I would like to confirm that Herbert is a tutor who cares and love his students, and tries to do his best for his students, including Kawee. Herbert helped Kawee in everyway during his school years. He even paid for Kawee's univerisity admission fees.

Other than that, my family has never forgotten Mrs. Lakhana Katawetikul, the owner of American School of Bangkok. Before Kawee came to study at Harrow, Mrs. Lakhana was so kind and warm to Kawee and to my family.

I don't know how to thank them but I am very appreciated. All of you instilled in my son the love for learning.

Kent & Alysia, two UBC Alumni, visited Thailand before going on to India. They were our guests at our place. Kawee took the Alumnis to the Dhamakaya Temple, where my family often visit. They took pictures in the church.

The England National Football Coach, came to visit Thailand. Kawee was fortunate to meet him and took a photo with him.

At Kawee's farewell party, he gave a speech.

Kawee was pushed into the pool and took photos with his friends. The girl on the left is Aim, one of Kawee's friend who will be going to UBC with him. The girl on Kawee's right is Pim, the owner of the house. The girl on the right Margo, one of Kawee's old friend.

Kawee and his Prom date, Jenny. In this event, Kawee was voted King.

This photo was taken at the prom. This was his tutor class (homeroom.) The man in the black-suit, on the right is Mr. Herbert. The person I said I admire so much.

This picture is both cute and sad. Brooke still sleeps on Kawee's chest in her last few nights with him.

Winston at his happy home

Winston, Typhoon's son, left Saiyai Kennel to Arpapan Raiwa, last month. The owner wrote to tell me, including pictures, that Winston is very happy. He's loved and loves the owner very much. I'm not surprised, because in my cavalier king charles breeding career, there has never been one which isn't loved by their owners or doesn't love their owners. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, born to be loved and to love.

Winston's owner told me that he started going to school. I don't know what it is he's studying, but I hope he gets an A+.

If anyone wonders how Winston, or any cavaliers express their happiness, look at the 2nd picture, and all your doubts will be answered.

Thanks a lot,Khun Arpapan,for making my day.

Maiden: Short life, but long memeory

Maiden was a daughter of Cash and Minnie. She has a male litter-mate called Divine. Both names came from Simon Sim, my friend. He gave Maiden the name: Saiyai Thai Maiden Fortune. As for Divine, he gave the name: Saiyai Thai Cash Dividend.

At the time, everyone encouraged me to keep Divine and Maiden for myself because they're very good. The Cash-ness in them are obvious. Even Daneil, a French exhibitor, who showed strong interest to purchase a Cash's puppy, when I told him that I wanted to keep Cash's puppies for myself, he kindly understood me. At the time, everybody sent me a congratulating email saying that I was doing the right thing, keeping them.

At the time, I was also in contact with Peter and Ellika, a very nice couple of breeder and exhibitor from Sweden. With their sheer determination to purcahse my puppies, including their pursue for a permission for temporary quaruntine, I agreed to sell Maiden to them. I was only going to keep Divine, the male.

Both Divine and Maiden are very cute and lively. Both share a characteristic: they both wag their tails cheerfully. But as time goes by, a few months past, I noticed that Maiden is very small. Almost just half the size of her litter mate. But she's lively and sweet. Anyhow, since she was so small, I told Peter and Ellika that she may not be suitable for breeding, so I asked to change Maiden to another Cash's puppy. Ellika was disappointed because she liked Maiden very much, but she accepted the offer and thanks me for my honesty. I was happy to keep Maiden with me no matter how small she is or whether she'll be useful to me.

About last week, I decided to take Maiden to a vet to check why she's so small, since she eats a lot. She was still lively and wagging her tails happily when she saw me. Only in her eyes that made me noticed that she was unwell. The vet did a check-up on her, and it would take 3 days for the test result to come. In the mean time, I didn't think anything serious would happen to Maiden. I've seen many teacups in my time. I don't like teacups, but I don't mind having Maiden even though she's a teacup. When the result came the day before yesterday, it was found that Maiden had a problem with her disgestive system. The problem was that the body wasn't bringing in any of the minerals from the food she eats. I've never seen such a condition in any dogs before. The vet said such a condition is rare. One in a thousand. It's an individual problem, not genetic.

What I found out about Maiden, came to me suddenly. The vet gave me some medicine and vitamins to help her, but the vet wasn't sure it was going to help because her body takes in very little of the minerals.

I was sad, and prayed that Maiden has a long life with me. She didn't have to go anywhere anymore. She was going to live with me. Yesterday, I picked up Maiden and hugged her in my arms. She wagged her tail and looked at me lovelingly. A dog that wags its tail in such a way shows happiness, but her eyes showed sickness. At that moment, I almost saw the word "good-bye" in her eyes. Maiden wagged her tail in my arms for many minutes. Maiden wag her tails like Divine. They do it very rapidly. But when I saw the "good-bye" in her eyes, I noticed that she's doesn't wag her tail as quikly as she used to. And it stopped. Her eyes closed. And her soul left the body.

I think her soul was not very far from where I was standing. She must have wondered why I cried and cried. At that moment, she was no longer in pain. No longer tired. And she was going to dog heaven.

Maiden had a short life. Only almost 3 months old. But Maiden will live in my memories for as long as I live.

Saiyai is ok in New York

My husband and I talked with my daughter, Saiyai, this morning, Thailand time, which means evening time in New York. She said she's fine. She's lucky to have a good roommate. Her roommate is an American, who came another state. Her name is Laura. She arranged the apartment since before Saiyai arrived. Saiyai is also lucky she's got many friends there, and they're helpful. This is one of the benefit from her travels and her study at Tsinghua University, Beijing, which had many people from around the world studying in, including Ken, a nice Chinese-American. Ken works at Standard and Poor in New York. Ken helps Saiyai a lot, incuding picking up Saiyai at the airport. Skyler, one of Saiyai's best friend, also flew from Chicago, to meet and help Saiyai on her arrival. How lucky Saiyai is to have them as friends.

Saiyai complained about the expenses in New York. In fact Saiyai complains everywhere she goes about the expenses. When she moved from Beijing to work at Shang-Hai, she was shocked how much more expensive it was. LOL. Now, she's in New York. She has no right to expect that things will be as cheap as in Thailand. Yet she complains and complains. LOL. She has to plan her spending, strictly.

I' post a picture of Saiyai in Shang-Hai on this blog because she hasn't taken any photos in New York yet. She said she's busy sorting things out, including her computer. LOL.

I really miss my daughter, Saiyai, since the first day she left.

Our family took a photo together at the airport, a few minutes before Saiyai flew. This must be our family's last picture together this year.

Ua, Saiyai's best friend, went to send her off. Ua is also leaving to study at Helsinki and London. She got a scholarship to study Performing Arts, there. It will be very beneficial for her family business, which is managing a theatre in Bangkok. Saiyai and Ua have been best friends for many years and will be forever.

Saiyai, my eldest child, flew to New York to study at NYU, yesterday. Even though this departure is something we know of for a long time, and isn't the first time Saiyai leaves home for abroad, I don't know why this occasion makes us miss her so much.

Saiyai travels abroad often. Earlier, she studied at Beijing and worked at Shang-Hai, China. We should be used to the idea of being far apart, but we're not. We began missing her a lot since the first day she left.

Anyway, Saiyai won't be away for too long. She'll be back by the end of the year. She seriously planned that when she will return to New York next time, she will take er two lovely ugly dogs with her. They're Tan-Ong, a pug, and Luk-pong, a French bulldog. They're simple, and actually quite ugly, but she loves them a lot.

Saiyai is a child that when around, she can help me with anything. She's like a secretary, an assistant. She's the child that knows and understands me best. She's amazing. She is my dear daughter.

I really miss my daughter, Saiyai, since the first day she left.

Keep up high and more power Tata Young !

The biggest news on the newspaper and all Thai media is the news that Tata Young has broken up with her ex-financee. I wasn't shocked because something like this can happen to anyone in this world. I'm just a bit sad for Tata that while people think she gets so many things more than other people in the same country, Thailand. That's right. But Tata has been through all the tough and lost time too.

My family and I like Tata Young so much. Not only because she has a Chihuahua puppy from me , but because she's talented. And as I've met and known her, she has a very good heart, especially for dogs and animals.

In the life time, there's nothing sadder than not having someone to go back to be with. Tata Young is not like that. It's just that today, the person she wants to go back to is no longer the same one she goes back to. But life is long, she's beautiful. She's perfect in almost every way and she deserves good thing, good guy.

Tata Young gave an interview that when she came back from aboard recently, she didn't go to meet anyone. She only went home to see Lola, the sweet female chihuahua, who's a daugther of my Soy Jampa. I'm glad that Lola is the one that Tata Young wants to go back to.I know that Lola will always wait for Tata Young and will never betray her.

My family and I put lots of love and supports for Tata Young to move forward like she always does.
Keep up high and more power Tata Young!
The day Tata Young picked up her Lola. . Now both of them are getting more beautuful

That's the way Tata Young looks at her Lola, love and kind. There's Lola 's little mate in Tata Young's anoter hand

I'm happy with every minute of being a mother

Yesterday was Her Majesty the Queen's Birthday. In Thailand, that is the nation's Mother's Day. So, we wish long live Her Majesty the Queen.

For me, I was awakened by my three kids. They came to express their love and gave me a garland of jasmine. It's a Thai tradition. What told me they love me and wish for my happiness on this special day, which only the mothers, deserve that day.

Even though our express of love is something done constantly in m family, I was still very happy they came to do this for me on Mother's Day.

My husband also wanted to share this moment. He was the photographer. That's why the pictures came out so bad. LOL. The pictures were taken when I just awoke and my children just got out of bed. But they're pictures I will treasure for the rest of my life.

Yesterday, my family spent the day together. My husband and my kids took me to lunch. They asked me to choose the restaurant and I chose an Italian restaurant. When we arrived, we found many other families who took their mothers out on the day. Even though going out to dinner together is something my family do together all the time, yesterday lunch was very special for me (my husband paid for the lunch. LOL.) Even in the evening, my husband had a meeting for a small discussion at a hotel, the whole family went. My kids and I had some drinks. After that the whole family went to have dinner together. We took photos together at the hotel.

As I've said, it was so special to me, even though the various activities were something we always do together anyway. How can anything be more special? I enjoy being a mother from the very first second I gave birth to my first child, 24 years ago. Being a mother, to me, is the best thing in my life. Nothing has yet made me happier. All my kids are very good. That's enough for a mother.

Another special thing about yesterday was also the fact that there are so few days left before Saiyai, my eldest child, leaves to study in NYU, New York, this Friday.

The wild life at Karen's yard

I don't know why everytime I think about US, I think of modernization and high technology. I barely thought about a beauty of nature much. But below is a picture that Karen Hamling of Fandango, USA , sent to me. She explained along with the picture as

"Caught this Mommy Deerest, with her her 3 fawns, next , to my yard in the meadow. She has been bringing them up every night to eat, and steal veggies from my garden:) "

Even in my country, this kind of sight is hard to see. So this sight from Karen's yard is such an impressive picture for me. Thank you, Karen.

By the way,It touches me that Karen lets them steal her veggies every night!!!LOL

The day Andy goes to Manila

I write this blog after the opening ceremony of Beijing Olympic 2008. Just as I expected, it's one of the most grand opening ceremonies in Olympic history. This kind of ceremony, only China can do it, with many thousands of acters and they try to show many thousands years of history in the only 2 hours show. Can't believe they could do it, but they could - excellently.

John from Diamond King Kennel, Phillipines came to visit us and picked his puppy that he reserved. John was my family guest for a couple days and just left to Manila with Andy, a smoot coat Chihuahua puppy, which sired by DK.Th.CH. ALVEENA MISTY MEADOW'S MASA FCI ( http://www.saiyaikennel.net/c25.html ) and the dam is Th.Ch."Soyjumpa" The Flower of Love and Friendship (http://www.saiyaikennel.net/c6.html)

Andy has a kennel named as Saiyai Thai Misty for Diamond King

John is a young breeder who has so much knowledges. Since I've known him for a while and everytime I talk to him, I don't feel like I talk to a boy who's as old as my kid (John is 2 years older than my oldest child) but everytime I feel like I gain more knowledge by talking to a friend breeder who knowledged and determine to improve his chihuahuas to be better and the best.

John objects me everytime that he's not that good but I know he is and I know that so much knowledges he has are inherit from his grandfather and his father, who love dogs, show dogs and study about dogs for all their life. John told me that his father is a kind of person who panic with all the weird things that happen to dogs, even for small details like when the dog doesn't eat a meal - only one meal, he'll take that dog to see a vet. I'm happy to listen to it because I feel like having a freind who feels the same way lol

Back to John, he's a kind of young guy who has his dignity and knows what he's doing. At the same time, he respects the other knowledges and ideas.

John deeply intends to show Andy as best as he can. I believe in Andy and his show result that Andy lives with one of the best families in the world and he'll be taken care for show from a family that loves and determines to show.

I can imagine how great Champion Andy will be in the future.

I'm also impressed in John and his family more than he thinks I would be.
John and Andy in my house this morning, before leiving to Manila
And with my 2 sons, Sa and Kawee

All in one

In Kawee's room, my youngest son, there are three cushions. But all his chihuahuas prefer to all lay together on the same one.

This kind of sight will be available for 21 more days before Kawee leaves for the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.

Happy Birthday to the ones I love

Ivy, Lamar dogs house, Nebraska USA, is a good friend of mine and her family is so nice to my family. Besides dogs that we love in common, Ivy and I have Colby as a bond to our relationship. He's a topic that we talk about so often. Colby is the youngest son of Ivy's family. He's very sweet, charming and popular in his neighborhood. I know everyone loves Colby so much. Who doesn't?

Colby turns 19 today. One of his dreams is being a good handler for Chihuahua. He may wish that with his birthday cake as to become good handler and show chihuahuas to become champions. I also wish him a very happy birthday from now on until his next year birthday. Happy Birthday, my dear Colby

Meetang, long coat Chihuahua, Piko's son, was born on 5 August 2007 turns 1 year old today. Meetang lives happily with a sweet family in Saraburi province, a town not too far from Bangkok. I sent my kisses and hugs with lots of love to Meetang. Happy Birthday Meetang.

Cash's daughters - guess which one is mine

Tippawan Saiyai Sunshine of Fortune

Tippawan Saiyai Fortune Morning Glory

Tippawan Saiyai Fortune Sweetheart

Tippawan Saiyai Fortune Sweet Dream

Prayoon and Tippawan is a couple of chihuahua breeders. They are my close friends and my handler team (Prayoon, the husband show my dog, but Tippawan, the wife, helps a lot.) I allow them, because we are close friends, to have their bitch breed with any of my male, without charge. Only my Cash and Baron, which I have a condition with them, that the bitch they bring to breed with these two special boys must have a special title. Once they have a puppy, I have the right to pick one of them back.

Prayoon and Tippawan brought his bitch, which is an International Champion, named Dao-Rouang, to breed with Cash. The four puppies above are the outcome of Cash and Dao-Rouang. They are all females. Prayoon and Tippawan to keep three of them for themselves, and of course, I pick one as I have the right to. I named them all by myself.

GUESS WHICH ONE IS MINE

It will be a great time

Sa, my eldest son, who went to work as a mentor in a camp for children from all over the world, in Phuket, returns home today. Right now, as I'm writing this blog, we're waiting for him at home.

The children that Sa went to mentor, came from all over the world. Their families sent them to enjoy a summer at the beautiful beaches of Phuket. EVerbody knows it's like a paradise there. My Sa went to mentor this camp for the 2nd year running. Since there are children from all over the world, and my Sa is a great story-teller, I'm certain my family and I will spend many days listening to stories of those children. My Sa has a good attitude to children and other people, always. And those children came from good families.

My family will all be together, starting from today, until the day Saiyai, my daughter and eldest child, leaves to study in New York on the 15th of August. Kawee, the youngest son and child, will fly to study Vancouver Cananda, on the 27th of August. We'll be together for only a short time, but it'll be a great time.

Gayle, Lamar Dog House, USA, sent a picture of her Charm, who has just finished her American Championship. Charm is a daughter of my Cash. Congratulations again, Gayle. Gayle also put the picture and story of her Charm in her blog.

http://www.lamarsdoghousehomestead.blogspot.com/

Ichikawa, United JP, Japan, owner of "Gambler" the American Champion, who's a half-brother of my Cash, sent me a picture of Gambler's puppy. Ichikawa is very proud of the markings, which looks like wings, on the back of the puppy. I agree it's very cute. I hope Ichikawa will let us see the face of the puppy soon. LOL.
